The Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management recently issued an evacuation warning for the Sherpa Fire burn area. Those affected include Refugio Canyon, Las Flores Canyon, and El Capitan Canyon.
The warning follows a Flash Flood Watch issued by the National Weather Service for recent burn areas in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.

People living in the Sherpa Fire burn area are encouraged to prepare to evacuate and Thise who feel threatened or have special needs are advised to evacuate now.

The Sherpa Fire was started in mid-June and burned roughly 7,474 acres in the canyon area of northwest Goleta.

Weather forecasts has called for .3″ to as much as 1.5″ of rain between Thursday afternoon and midday Friday.
