To honor our local high school athletes and scholars we will be sharing a profile everyday.
Our first highlight is
SYHS Senior Jacob Thielst
Sports played at Santa Ynez High School: Jacob is a stellar aquatics athlete, and was a 4 year Varsity Water Polo player, and 4 year Varsity Swimmer for Jake Kalkowski.
Favorite high school sports memory: Jacob enjoyed playing in the San Diego Water Polo Tournament with his teammates
Post high school plans: Jacob will attend the Fab School in Rancho Cucamonga where he will have career preparation in metal fabrication, welding, CNC machinery, 3D modeling and carbon fiber applications.
Favorite coach, mentor, or teacher at Santa Ynez: Jacob said that Head Varsity Water Polo and Swim/Dive Coach Jake Kalkowski and Assistant Varsity Water Polo and Swim/Dive Coach Kieran Graner stand out because both of them always pushed him to be his very best!
