The northbound US Highway 101 on-ramp at Salinas Street will be closed for a four week period beginning Tuesday night, Dec. 27 at 9 p.m. Motorists will detour via Carpinteria Street to reach the northbound US Highway 101 on-ramp at Milpas Street, delays are not expected to exceed 10 minutes.

In addition, the right lane of northbound US 101 will be closed from East Cabrillo Boulevard/Hot Springs Road to Salinas Street 24/7 for this same four week period.

This closure is necessary so that Caltrans may perform repairs to a drainage culvert a Sycamore Creek that was recently damaged by a fire. This project is expected to be completed in January 2017, weather permitting.

Lane closures on State Route 154 will continue next week due to pavement resurfacing. Closures will occur in various locations west of Edison Street to the Cold Spring Canyon Bridge. Motorists may encounter one-way reversing traffic control as follows, weather permitting:

• Monday, October 31 through Thursday, November 3 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. for repairs to the highway.
• Monday, October 31 through Friday morning November 4 during the overnight hours from 7:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. for repairs to the highway.

In addition, the resurfacing of a nine mile section of US Highway 101 from Hollister Road to Refugio Road will continue over the next three weeks with the paving of northbound US Highway 101 Monday through Thursday from 3 a.m. until 3 p.m. and on Fridays from 2 a.m. until 1 p.m., weather permitting.

Roadwork on the southbound lanes will take place Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.  Motorists can expect traffic delays not to exceed 15 minutes.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be present to ensure a safe environment for everyone.  

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.
