Gary Vecchiarelli Productions will present 1940s Battle of the Big Bands – Glenn Miller Vs. Harry James –Let the Battle Begin! on September 16 at 2 p.m. at the Solvang Festival Theatre.
Roger Lloyd Wood’s Big Bands provides an afternoon concert of the most popular songs from the 1940’s featuring the”original” Big Band sounds of Glenn Miller and Harry James. These bands are “On Tour” performing in 12 California cities through November 2018.
Featuring the exciting “Ambassador of Swing” Ned Rifkin, along with the warmth and charm of vocalist Candace Delbo from the Chordettes.
Special Guests “THE SATIN DOLLZ” will dazzle you with tight vocal harmonies in their tribute to the Andrew Sisters.
Experience live music non stop for 2 hours plus a 15 minute intermission.The audience will vote at the end of the evening for their favorite big band!
Glenn Miller and Harry James were two of the top Big Band leaders of the 1940’s. Glenn Miller’s many greatest hits include “In the Mood”, “(I’ve got a Gal in) Kalamzoo” and “Chattanooga Choo Choo”. Harry James greatest hits include “All or Nothing at All”, “Two O’Clock Jump” and “Sleepy Lagoon”. The show provides a “non-stop” 1940s music experience. The audience will “vote” for their favorite!
