Families, friends and canines of all ages are invited to the 9th Annual Bark for Books event on Sat., June 30 at Ferrini Park, corner of Bell Street (Hwy 135) and Centennial Street in downtown Los Alamos. Pet owners are encouraged to bring those family pets to compete for prizes!

This year’s Judges will include Santa Barbara County 3rd District Supervisor Joan Hartmann, Solvang City Manager Brad Vidro and local dog lover economist Lyla Oyakawa.

Registration will take place from 10:30-noon. Dog demonstrations, author readings, and specialty competitions such as “dog tricks,” “dogs in costumes,” and “dog kissing” will take place before a variety of friendly dog races start at 1:00 p.m. Raffle drawing being held between each race.

Admission is free for all spectators. On-site registration is $20 per dog, per race. Registration fees go directly to benefit the Los Alamos Public Library.
