Solvang Chamber of Commerce (www.SolvangCC.com) is seeking new volunteers to serve a three-year term of office on its Board of Directors, beginning January 2020.
Solvang Chamber is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1911, to promote the Solvang business community. The Chamber’s mission: “The Solvang Chamber of Commerce is a champion of business, providing advocacy, education and resources to the business community.”
Board position applicants must be an active business owner, executive-level manager or the property owner of commercial real estate in Solvang. Applicants must also be a Chamber member in good standing. All businesses must be in good standing with all appropriate permits filed with the City of Solvang, without fines or outstanding violations of code enforcement. Applicants must have been in their respective positions for a minimum of two years prior to December 31, 2019.
The all-volunteer members of the Solvang Chamber Board oversee the strategic marketing plan and advancement of such; encourage development of new promotional programs and educational outreach, with special focus on mid-week business programs.
Solvang Board applicants must be willing to commit to attending regular monthly Board Meetings, held at 9:00 AM the fourth Wednesday of each month at The Landsby hotel. The positions require 20-40 hours per year, volunteering for Chamber programs and events.
