A 25-year-old Solvang man identified as Elias Murcia-Aplicano, was arrested and booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail for allegedly assaulting another person with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in the 400-block of Fifth Street just after 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 21. The victim had been taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. His identity and condition are not available for release.
Sheriff’s Deputies conducted an area canvas in an attempt to locate any additional witnesses. Anyone with additional information about this incident is encourage to contact the Solvang Sheriff’s Station at (805)686-5000. This investigation is ongoing. Murcia-Aplicano is being held on $30,000 bail.
