Senior: Samantha West

Sports played at Santa Ynez: Sam played JV Tennis her Freshman year. She is a 2 year Varsity Cross Country runner and a 4 year Varsity Track and Field athlete where she did two years of distance running and two years of jumping.

Favorite High School sports memory: Sam’s favorite high school sports memory was going to CIF Prelims with her Cross Country team her Sophomore year and then advancing to CIF Finals that same year with her team!!

Post High School plans: Sam’s post high school plans are attending to Santa Barbara City College for 2 years to complete her general education classes and then transfer to Cal Poly SLO or San Diego State to get her teaching credential.

Favorite Coach, Mentor, or Teacher at Santa Ynez: “This is a hard one but Ashley Coelho was my favorite coach because she taught me to do what I love and to not be afraid to try different things. My junior year I changed my track and field events from distance running to jumping and she was very supportive through it all!”
