With the arrival of additional vaccine supply, first dose vaccine appointments will be available at Public Health vaccination sites. These appointments will be available to local Santa Barbara County residents that are Emergency Services Workers, Grocery Workers, and Phase 1A Health Care Workers. Special outreach for separate clinics for Educators, Childcare, and the Agricultural/Food Industry are also taking place for clinics next week. Approximately 2,800 total first dose appointments will be available at Public Health vaccination sites in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.
Beginning Monday, March 1, 2021 at 9 a.m., eligible residents that are Emergency Services Workers, Grocery Workers, and Phase 1A Health Care Workers can schedule appointments for Public Health vaccination sites here: https://publichealthsbc.org/covid-19-vaccine-appointment-registration/. Appointments will only be available beginning 9 a.m. on March 1. For assistance with appointment registration, those eligible can reach out to the County Call Center, beginning March 1, by calling 2-1-1 and selecting option #4. This line is available 7 days a week between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Dr. Van Do-Reynoso, Director for the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department said, “We are very excited to offer a first dose vaccine to thousands more of our community members. This is a significant step in the right direction towards ending this pandemic.”
For those 65 years of age and older, vaccine appointments will become available in the coming week at local pharmacies, health care providers, and hospitals.
