March 26 event will include filmed performances by local entertainers

Staff Report

LOMPOC — The Lompoc Theatre Project (LTP) will be hosting “The Show Must Go On” — a live telethon and virtual fundraiser.

The event will be live streamed from the Lompoc Theatre Project Facebook page and will run approximately two and a half hours beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 26. Hosted by LTP Executive Director Mark Herrier, the fundraiser will have appearances including a mix of one-man shows, shoutouts for the arts, musical performances, cabarets and more.

It will also have a mix of celebrity personalities including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Brad Hall, Henry Hall, Jeffrey Combs, Tom Bergeron, Rona Barrett, Jeff McCarthy, Richard Karn, Grace Towers, Alotta Boutté and more. Local acts will be filmed inside the historic theater and will include the Simmons Sisters, Jacob Cole, Angelina LaPointe, and Kaitlyn Chui.

Although the event will be free to all, VIP tickets are encouraged and will be sold prior to the event for a $20 donation. These ticket holders will receive access to over 30 auction items from local wineries, restaurants, hotels and businesses. This includes winery and vineyard experiences, overnight stays and more. The auction will run from 9 a.m. on March 20 through 9 p.m. on March 26. Ticket holders will also receive access to exclusive footage from behind the scenes via a private viewing link. All of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Lompoc Theatre Project.

Local businesses and individuals are partnering with the LTP to offer “donation matches” ranging from $500 to $1,000. Donors will be announced live during the telethon.

With a mix of ticket sales, auction lots and telethon donations, the Lompoc Theatre project hopes to kick of their first fundraiser of the year with a lofty goal of $50,000.
