The Chumash Casino Resort’s Chief Executive Officer, Holly Gagnon, hosted a Toy Drive to benefit People Helping People’s Fulfill-A-Wish Program. The Toy Drive was held during a Holiday Mixer at Root 246 where guests were encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy to be donated to needy families in the community.
“We place a strong emphasis on giving back to the community and that was demonstrated by the hundreds of toys that were donated,” said Gagnon. “We have a great team who are passionate about helping those in need.”
The Fulfill-A-Wish Program provides for wishes for 79 local families. Wishes include toys, clothing, housewares, and food for the holidays.
“Thanks to the Chumash Casino Resort and their employees for the generous outpouring of true Christmas spirit. The donation of toys will brighten the holiday for so many who would not otherwise be able to celebrate,” said Dean Palius, Execute Director of People Helping People.
The donation of toys came just a week after the Tribe donated $25,000 to the Central Coast Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign before the Moscow Ballet’s “Great Russian Nutcracker” on December 15.
