Buellton’s Oak Valley Elementary School will host their annual spring Farmer’s Market on Friday, May 11 starting at 2:30 p.m. in front of the school’s office located at 595 Second St.
Fruits, vegetables, and Mother’s Day gift plants will be available for sale. This year, the addition of donated produce from businesses such as New Frontiers Natural Marketplace, Albertsons, El Rancho Market, and Something Good Organic Farm has expanded the selection of produce available to attendees.
“We have a lot of mouths to feed,” said Oak Valley parent and one of the event’s organizers Danielle Ripley. “We are very excited for a great turnout.”
The Oak Valley School Garden relies on grants and fundraising to provide education in the garden. The program has teamed up with Explore Ecology of Santa Barbara to provide garden instruction three times a week throughout the school year. All proceeds from the Farmer’s Market will go towards future education in garden.
