Call to action for changing legislation regarding district of choice

By Dr, Diane Cox Superintendent/Principal of Vista Del Mar Union School District Dear Parents, The California State Legislature took action on Senate Bill 1432 that would end the District of Choice program after this school year. This would mean that your child could no longer attend another school out of his/her designated school unless we can convince the Legislature to change its mind, and we have only a short time to do this. We are asking you to contact the names below, by email and telephone calls, telling them how important this program is to your family, how bad it would be for you if it ended, and asking them to change their mind about Senate Bill 1432. Please call both the Capitol office and District office by the end of the day tomorrow (Friday Aug. 12) and no later than Monday (Aug. 15) by noon. In addition to the contact information below, please also call your local Assembly representative (on attached list) at both their Capitol and District office and let them know what this program means to your child and family.
