Fire at Gaviota Peak under control

Crews from Santa Barbara County Fire and Los Padres Forest Service quickly contained a vegetation fire at Gaviota Peak this afternoon.
The fire was first reported at 1:25 p.m. and when crews arrived found 1 acre burning in heavy vegetation mid-way up the Gaviota Peak Trail.
By 2:45 p.m. count officials reported the fire was under control and forward progress was stopped.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
