Due to the relatively large number of applicants for the vacant City Council seat on the Solvang City Council created by former councilmember Ryan Toussaint winning the Nov. mayoral race, the City of Solvang will hold a Special Meeting of the City Council on Jan. 8, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. to conduct interviews and make an appointment to fill the current council vacancy.
11 applicants will be considered during the meeting. The applicants are:

Patrick Henry, Senior Property Management Specialist
Joan Jamieson, Land Use Consultant
Kim Jensen, Retail Business Owner
Daniel Johnson, CPA
Christopher McCool, Realtor
Michael Mendizza, Business Owner
Gregory Millikan, Lawyer
Kenny Esko New York, Small Business Owner
Justin Rodriguez, Asphalt Paving Contractor
Edwin Skytt, Semi-retired
The council has until Feb. 8 to fill the vacancy but is expected to do so during Tuesday’s meeting.
