*Update – As of Saturday evening, family of Brett Escalera Jr. posted on their social media that he was found safe!
Brett Escalera Jr. has been missing for almost a week and his family is hoping that by reaching out to the public it might produce leads on his whereabouts. The 20-year-old who lives in Goleta, is the son of Brett Escalera, owner and winemaker of Consilience in Los Olivos.
Escalera, Jr. is described as a caucasian male, height of 6’2″ and weighing 160 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and an olive complexion.
“This is really unlike him, especially since he had just gotten a new job and was supposed to start this week,” his father said.
Escalera said his son’s phone was shut off most likely because the battery died, as his son’s phone plan is attached to his. Escalera mentioned they have his phone records and are calling everyone he has talked to and texted recently to see if they know where he might be.
Escalera said his son went to a few concerts in the Los Angeles area this past weekend and the last place he was known to be was supposedly a rave near the University of Southern California campus on Sunday.
“We have been working with the USC police, the LAPD and the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s to find him. We have family and friends in the area combing for clues as well,” Escalera said.
He also went to another concert on Saturday at Exposition Park in Los Angeles and Escalera saw a photo of him there wearing blue pants and a blue blazer.
If anyone has any information they are encouraged to contact the SBC Sheriff’s at (805) 681-4100.
