Staff Report
A project to repair and resurface the bicycle path parallel to State Route 246 from east of Alamo Pintado Road to west of Refugio Road in Solvang began on Monday, Sept. 10.
The bicycle path will be closed to cyclists/pedestrians for approximately three weeks. Traffic on the bicycle path will detour to the shoulder of State Route 246.
There are no lane closures anticipated on State Route 246, but motorists, bicycle riders and pedestrians will encounter intermittent flagging for vehicles entering/exiting the bike path with delays not to exceed 5 minutes. Everyone is encouraged to Share the Road.
The contractor for this $180,000 project is Taylor Jane Construction of Nipomo, CA. This project is expected to be complete in early October.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
