The Great Food Truck Race, a popular show from the Food Network, will be filming in Solvang this Thursday through Saturday! In order to win each food truck will be selling their creations around town and hoping to earn the most money for their menu!
The Great Food Truck Race is a reality television show where seven real teams representing the country’s best food trucks hit the road to cook their way across America. Each week, the teams that sell the most food are advanced to the next episode; the losing team drives home.
In the end one food truck remains, and the team behind the wheel wins a $50,000 grand prize. These are great characters with fascinating existing relationships. They’re husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, and best friends. And they’re already running the most-successful, -outrageous food trucks in the country — but never quite like this.
The host, Tyler Florence, explains the rules: In each city, the teams will start with a limited budget, then they’ll have the weekend to strategize and sell. The episode will be filming in Solvang and the trucks will be all over town. Anything else they buy, from more raw ingredients to ads on local TV, will come out of their profits. Whomever makes the most money is safe. The truck that makes the least amount of money is eliminated.
