The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation is accepting grant applications until May 31 for its Technology in Schools Program, which helps Santa Barbara County schools and classrooms fulfill their high-tech needs.
The program, which awarded five grants totaling more than $47,000 during the current school year, allows administrators or faculty members to apply for technology grant dollars to purchase hardware and/or upgrade infrastructure.
“We understand the funding challenges our local schools face as they attempt to keep up with the technological demands of a modern classroom,” said Tribal Chairman Kenneth Kahn.
In the 2017-2018 cycle, the Technology in Schools Program grant recipients were Santa Barbara Community Academy, La Honda STEAM Academy in Lompoc, Cabrillo High School, Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy, and Guadalupe Union School District.
