Farm Supply locations all along the Central Coast including Buellton are inviting all 4-H and FFA Clubs to participate and build a scarecrow for a chance to win money for their groups on Saturday, October 1.
Clubs can participate and Farm Supply will provide the wood frame, and each club will be responsible for bringing decor items.
“It’s a fun fall event and a way for clubs and chapters to make some money,” said Cara Crye, of Farm Supply.
They will have from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day to come up with their scarecrows and the winners at each location will be announced at noon on Saturday, October 15. First place received a $250 gift card to Farm Supply, and the Club/Chapter Participation Reward is $100 gift card.
The store winners will compete against all winning entries at the Great Pumpkin Contest on Thursday, October 20th.
Each club is also encouraged to bring items to sell during that time, such as a bake sale to raise extra funds for their organizations.
If your club is interested in entering, contact dmelero@farmsupplycompany.com by September 25. There are limited spots available and all scarecrows must remain at Farm Supply until November 21.
