Highway 246 is closed in both directions from Thumbelina Drive to Freear Drive in Buellton as several Eucalyptus trees fell during the storm and caused a significant amount of damage.
“This closure will occur between 5:30 p.m. this evening and the commencement of work in the morning (about 7 a.m.). The highway should reopen to through traffic in the morning when crews begin work to resolve the hazards and have traffic control measures in place,” according to Scott Wolfe, Buellton city manager.
Travelers are encouraged to take Highway 154 to Highway 101 to get to Buellton or use the Thumbelina neighborhood for through traffic. Please use caution in the residential areas.
