Staff Report

While Solvang Festival Theater is temporarily closed for a $4.7 million rebuilding project, Solvang Theaterfest will present live concert events at alternative locations throughout the Santa Ynez Valley. The first live “Pop-up Concert” features Doctor Wu, a Steely Dan tribute band from Los Angeles, on stage at the Solvang Veterans’ Memorial Hall on Friday, December 3 at 7 pm.

Doctor Wu features an 11-piece band comprised of 3 vocalists, 4 rhythm and 4 horns, and fronted by lead singer, Tony Egan. This is a “don’t miss” opportunity for all Steely Dan fans as Doctor Wu’s live shows consist of their fan-favorite blockbuster hits with groovy, lyric-driven songs. From the tasty jazz/rock rhythm section and searing guitar leads, to the studio-tight horn section, Doctor Wu creates the textures and authenticity of Steely Dan’s music.

Tickets are $22 per person and are on sale now at www.Solvangtheaterfest.org Masks are required at all times regardless of vaccination status in all indoor spaces of the Veterans’ Memorial Building, except when actively eating or drinking. Gates open at 6:30 pm, concert starts at 7 pm.

Solvang Theaterfest is the 501 (C ) (3) nonprofit corporation that owns and operates Solvang Festival Theater. It is managed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors.
