In an effort to help bring the community together and help the most vulnerable in our community, the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation has announced the creation of the “Coronavirus Relief Fund” to support the local non-profit sector.

“So far we have had $10,000 in donations and we are making this process as fast and easy as possible because the need is now,” said Anne Christensen, Foundation Executive Director.

The Foundation has connected with long-time partners that have been providing these services for many years to understand what is needed and to provide relief funding. In response, the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation’s Coronavirus Relief Fund was established to support the work of the nonprofit sector during this time.

“In these challenging times, we are all looking to help our neighbors in need. In Santa Ynez and Los Alamos, the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting the ability of many of our seniors and at-risk individuals and families to afford food, rent, and basic care. It is clear that we must address not only the health ramifications of the virus itself, but the economic impact of business closures and work stoppages on the entire community as well,” Christensen, added.

All donations to the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation’s Coronavirus Relief Fund will directly support these vulnerable groups. There is no deadline or application, just send an email to the Foundation with a request and their committee will review and send a confirmation of yes or no as soon as possible.

“What makes the Valley so special are the people who live here. Time and time again, you see the community come together to extend a hand to those who need it most. At this time please continue your support of the nonprofit sector in whatever capacity you see fit,” commented Hayley Firestone Jessup, President of the Santa Ynez Foundation.

All donations are tax deductible and 100 percent of donations will be distributed to those in Santa Ynez and Los Alamos to meet basic needs during the pandemic including rent, food, and medical care.

Donations may be made on the Foundation’s website at or by sending to 485 Alisal Road, Suite #272, Solvang, CA 93463.  For more information about the Relief Fund or the Foundation, please contact Anne Christensen at or (805) 688-2991.
