Staff Report

Summer programs have begun at Buellton, Solvang, Los Olivos and Santa Ynez Libraries, and the public is invited to two special events to celebrate:

On Wed., June 13, at 11 a.m., One World Rhythm will appear at Buellton Library.  The audience is invited to rock the library with hands on drums, apple-shakers, boom-whackers, maracas, and tambourines!    Afterward, enjoy refreshments with the Buellton Friends of the Library.

On Sat., June 16, at 10:30 a.m., Conservation Ambassadors will bring The Zoo to You to Solvang Library, with live animals and storytelling about the natural world.  The event will be on the lawn outside the library- bring a blanket! Afterward, the Friends of the Library of Santa Ynez Valley will serve ice cream to celebrate summer at the library, and readers can browse the “Beach Reads” summer fiction book sale.

Both performances are free to the public, and appropriate for ages 4 and up.  There will also be opportunities for readers of all ages to sign up for “Choose Adventure,” the 2018 Summer Reading Program taking place through August 15.  The reading program offers lots of great prizes from local organizations who support the lifelong adventure of reading!
