Fess Parker Winery has announced the addition of Spencer Shull, a grandson of winery founder Fess Parker, as winery family representative.

Shull is part of the third generation behind Fess Parker Winery, which will celebrate 30 years as a family-owned and operated business in the coming year.

A graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, Shull started his career in fine wine and beer sales at the iconic Boulder Liquor Mart during college. In 2014, he returned to California to work harvest under the direction of winemakers Blair Fox and Tyler Eck, finishing the year by further developing his wine skills as a full-time tasting room consultant.

After graduation, Shull moved back to Santa Barbara in 2017 to work in the tap room of Third Window Brewing Company, a family owned brewery dedicated to producing small-batch, handcrafted beer.

“Spencer’s experience selling wine and craft beer, coupled with his personality and presence, will be a great addition to our team. We’re really excited to have another family member out in the market on a regular basis. His grandpa would be very pleased,” said Proprietor Ashley Parker Snider.

As family representative, Shull will support key accounts and brand development, including enhancing distributor relationships and expanding consumer-facing activities in markets throughout the country, Parker Snider said.

Fess Parker Winery was founded in 1989 by actor Fess Parker. As the 11th winery to join the Santa Barbara Vintners Association, Fess Parker remains one of the few wineries still family-owned and operated.

Other family members involved in the family business include Katie Parker, owner of KAP Land & Cattle, who raises Wagyu beef for The Bear and Star restaurant; Kris Parker, owner of Third Window Brewing Company; and Amanda Parker, event coordinator for both The Bear and Star and Fess Parker Wine Country Inn.

“As a family winery owned and operated by second and third generations, it’s important to celebrate our past while continuing to look to the future,” Parker Snider said. “Even after 30 years, Fess Parker Winery is still an emerging brand and, thanks to the passion and dedication of our growing team, we can look forward to the next 30 years to come.”
